Do you have a burning desire to reach your goals? If not, then what is it that caused you to lose your passion? I firmly believe that your inner desire will not only help you break through barriers in life but it will also help you overcome the obstacles that other people view as being “impossible”.

If you’ve lost your passion and your desire for success, here’s a quick story to help remind you of just how powerful your desire is and how important it is to your success.

The Burning Desire

“A young man asked Socrates the secret to success. Socrates told the young man to meet him near the river the next morning.

They met and Socrates asked the young man to walk with him toward the river. When the water got up to their necks, Socrates took the young man by surprise and dunked him under the water. The boy struggled to get out but Socrates was strong and kept him under the water until the boy started turning blue.

Socrates finally pulled his head out of the water and the first thing the young man did was to gasp and take a deep breath of air.

Socrates asked, ’What did you want the most when you were under there?”

The boy replied, “Air.”

Socrates said, “That is the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted the air, then you will get it. There is no other secret”.”

A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment.

Just like a small fire cannot give much heat, a weak desire cannot produce great results. So let me ask you again, do you have a burning desire to pursue all of your goals and dreams? If not, then you need to find your inner fire and you need to pour some gasoline on it. Remember, a small fire can’t give off much heat, but a burning desire can create an intense fiery furnace, deep inside of you, that will not be easily put out.

So where's your desire level at today? If it’s not turned all the way up to Level 10, then maybe you need to stoke the flames of your inner desire a little bit, so that it's back to burning bright again.
